A survival movie by an independent studio.
Wife and I saw it in the theater* last evening.
The basic story is that terrorists set off an atomic bomb off the coast of LA. A guy who is ex military gathers his family and heads east from LA to provide security to a rich guy who has set up a survival compound in the Rocky Mountains at a place he calls Homestead.
They make it okay but upon arrival are faced with the dilemma of whether to help other refugees who have gathered outside the gate of the compound. It is a faith based film but not too preachy. They are faced with other issues as well.
It was okay, lots of holes in the plot, For example, there is mention of the power grid being out on the east coast but they don't go into it nor does it have anything to do with the movie. It is actually a continuing series on the Angel studios website with additional episodes if you want to pay. I assume some of the holes will be filled in by backstory shown in the series as it plays out.
Oh...and this is not a Christmas movie.
*First movie I've seen in a theater in 14 years
